It’s been raining quite a bit lately here since Thursday, really heavy, intense long lasting rains. Last night it was relentless and I woke up a couple of times in the tent because of the noise. I am pretty relieved that no water got into Bob, Ryan and my tent. It’s surprising because our zipper doesn’t zip! You would think that at least some water would have gotten through but not did. Some other tents weren’t so lucky though… Erin, Hannah and Reilly’s especially. This morning they had to empty it completely of all of their things—mattresses, sleeping bags, backpacks, etc. Hopefully it does not happen again! I am surprised that the season of the short rains, which apparently begins here in November, was so prompt! The very first day marked the first rain and it has been cloudy ever since!
