Here’s a list of my favorite running routes, or commonly used ones sorted by location. I recently got into calculating my pace and writing down the weather conditions, too.
Luverne, Minnesota. My hometown in the midst of the blue prairie lands of the U.S.A. It’s where I grew up and first discovered my love for running. Whenever I go back, running these routes helps me relax and refocus. Country miles.
- Wonder Short – 1.2 miles (1.9K)
- Morning Coffee – 1.4 miles (2.2K)
- Agent Out – 1.5 miles (2.4K)
- Half Wonder – 2.5 miles (4.0K)
- BM – 2.5 miles (4.0K)
- Interpretive Center – 3.6 miles (5.8K)
- Hat Trick – 3.7 miles (5.9K)
- Blueb – 3.7 miles (5.9K)
- Wonder 4 – 4.0 miles (6.4K)
- Mound Round – 5.6 miles (8.9K)
- True Blue – 9.7 miles (15.6K)
Running Challenge
Recently I decided that, in order to finally prove myself in running, it’s time to get a BQ (Boston Qualifier time). A BQ means that you’ve run a marathon with a time worthy of Boston.
The Boston Marathon is seen as the pinnacle of marathon running achievement. There are high standards to gain an invitation and specific running paces need to be met in order to “make it to Boston.”
According to these standards, I should aim to bring my marathon pace down to 6:30 per mile. I believe this is achievable.
Focusing on pace during training will help me improve. I’ve never actually done this before in my 11 years of running. I’m excited to see if it will work.
