We woke early this morning to hit the road. We are moving around so much! I was really getting used to the dusty area, the wide-open rustic atmosphere of Engikaret. It was comforting somehow, perhaps because of the slow lifestyle pace of the people there. It seemed almost stress-free (although I’m sure it is stressful at times).
We spent all day in the car driving to Lake Manyara National Park, where we spent more time in the car on safari! It was a hot day, but the safari was sweet and well worth it. I saw many animals that, a year ago, I wasn’t expecting to every see living in the wild in my life. Those animals include elephants, giraffes, impalas, zebras and warthogs especially. I really enjoyed it all, but I was really dehydrated, which I know affected my mood negatively. I was kind of tired and downtrodden. But as soon as I drank water when we got to the campsite I slowly started feeling better… after showering I felt even better!
I got a call from my Dad back at camp! Everyone is doing well. I asked him to text Beth so that she could give me a call and she did! I’m very happy that I got to talk to her because, like always, she improved my mood more than the shower or anything else ever could. She’s doing great! I can’t wait to see her again.
