Peace Corps Cave

If the unexamined life was not worth living, was the unlived life worth examining?

Paul Kalanithi, “When Breath Becomes Air

Over the years I’ve often made short videos to highlight some of the places I’ve been. From the top of volcanoes in The Great Rift Valley to rice paddies in rural China, I’ve listed my favorites here along with a link to them. Most of the videos are the length of one song.

I picked songs that, for me, are heartwarming reminders of these special places and people.

Tanzania

This list was all made during my semester studying on the Masaai Mara and at the University of Dar es Salaam. I was there in the fall of 2012 learning about human origins and felt very much like Indiana Jones the whole time.

China

I lived in China for two years while serving in the Peace Corps. Most of these projects were made during that time as gifts for my students. I was inspired to make them after appearing in a commercial for a local coffee shop.

Grab a piping hot cup of coffee (or tea) and explore China through my eyes.

I also have plenty of China footage that didn’t make it into these videos. From Tibetan men singing, to a tour of my Peace Corps apartment, to people driving cars through fields of cows. Check that out here: China uncut.

United States

A few videos from my homeland!
